Tip of the Month: Adding, Deleting, moving & viewing the toolbars
Although we know you were looking forwarded to tips on adding and removing buttons using the toolbars,
we quickly realized that first you needed to know some secrets about using the toolbars.
NOTE: These secrets apply to all Microsoft products (the Office Suite, Outlook Express, Internet Explorer) as well as many non-Microsoft Products
Add a toolbar
You can add a toolbar in a couple ways. One way is to click on View, Toolbars (from the menu), then click on the Toolbar of your choice. Another way is to right click any toolbar or menu bar. A selection of available toolbars will appear before your eyes. Left click the desired toolbar.
Delete a toolbar
To get rid of a toolbar, right click the toolbar. Click the name of the toolbar you don’t want to see anymore and Voila! It’s gone.
Moving a toolbar
Move your cursor to the far left of the toolbar you’re trying to move. (A set of crossed 2-sided arrows will appear.) Hold down the left mouse button and drag the toolbar to some other location in the document. If you drag it to the center of the right or left side of the screen
or to the bottom of the screen , it will “dock” itself in that location.
Tooltips for toolbar icons
When you hold your mouse over an icon, does it display a tooltip telling you what the icon is used for?
If not, go to Tools, Customize on the menu, and make sure "Show ScreenTips on toolbars" is checked.
If you want the keyboard shortcut keys to appear in the tooltips, click the box for “Show shortcut keys in Screentips”
