Spring break starts this Friday, 3/21. See you again on Monday, 3/31.
Thanks parents for offering to chaperone for our upcoming Ellis Island trip! We have enough chaperones! Ask you children about Ellis Island - they've been learning all about immigration.
Please see Mrs. Steiner if you'd like additional support in reading or writing. |
| What are we studying??? |
Math - We're starting a new unit on Perimeter and Area. How can this be used at home? Social Studies - We stepped away from government long enough to take an intense look at immigration. Our class has been divided into families from different countries. We're keeping journals about our journey to the New World. We'll get back to drafting a new law after spring break. Reading - We're reading fiction and non fiction related to Immigration. Writing -What goes better with a unit on Immigration than journals and biographies? At the moment, we're reading a journal about a newsie, Finn Reardon. Our own journals will follow. Science Later this week, we'll plant some seeds that will be used in our upcoming plants and animals unit. |
